The Information Specialist plays a central role in developing and overseeing the effective organization, accessibility, and long-term preservation of technical and operational information at DKIST. Working across teams, this position will administer and manage document control systems, records retention, and data governance processes to support operations, manage change, and preserve institutional knowledge. This position streamlines the way information is created, stored, accessed, and shared, enabling staff to work more efficiently. This position will report to the Systems Engineer. Special Functions Support staff with management and organization of data in Confluence. Evaluate, audit, and strategically organize team documentation to ensure consistency and findability. Design and implement archiving strategies for historical and legacy documents. Guide and advise teams in structuring their documentation to meet organizational standards. Change management support: provide access to relevant as-builts, hazard analyses, performance analyses, etc. Proficiency with document management systems, such as Google Drive, Dropbox, SolidWorks, and any applicable systems. Oversee document control processes for engineering drawings, safety records, procedures, and configuration-controlled documents. Administer and continuously optimize and enhance information management platforms (e.g., electronic document management systems, collaboration tools, and archives). Expected to take initiative in their professional development by seeking feedback, improving skills, and identifying areas for personal growth. This includes participating in training opportunities and development programs provided by the organization. Contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and productive workplace by maintaining open communication, supporting team efforts, and fostering a sense of belonging within the team. General Functions: Work in accordance with applicable safety standards. Ensure safety of operations in areas under purview. Report any unsafe conditions and practices.
