About The Position

Responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s cybersecurity program, including policy governance, risk assessment, security monitoring, and incident response. Partners with internal departments to perform security assessments, coordinate remediation activities, and promote security awareness across the organization.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six (6) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a cybersecurity or information security related field.
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening, physical, and background checks.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience supporting server operating systems, including Microsoft Windows Server, UNIX (BSD/macOS), and Linux (e.g., RHEL).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 services (e.g., Office apps, Exchange, SharePoint).
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows desktop environments.
  • Experience supporting macOS environments.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with LAN/WAN network devices (e.g., Juniper).
  • Knowledge of VPN concepts and implementations.
  • Ability to configure devices, load software, and troubleshoot PCs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal departments (IT, Networking, Operations, HR, and other business units) to perform security assessments of systems, applications, and processes; document findings and coordinate remediation.
  • Administer identity and access management activities, including account management and application allowlisting/whitelisting.
  • Administer the phishing simulation and security awareness program; collaborate with HR and department leaders to improve participation and follow-up training.
  • Implement, review, and update company security policies, standards, and procedures; communicate requirements and support adoption across departments.
  • Design and implement security controls and safeguards to protect corporate assets (systems, networks, endpoints, and data).
  • Develop, test, and maintain the incident response plan; coordinate response activities with IT teams and impacted departments during security events.
  • Coordinate with third-party consultants/vendors as applicable to investigate privacy breaches and malware threats; align actions with internal stakeholders.
  • Install, configure, and maintain security tooling (e.g., endpoint protection/antivirus, IDS/IPS) and validate alerting and logging.
  • Install, configure, and maintain endpoint/device management systems to support secure configurations and compliance reporting.
  • Maintain operating system and third-party application patch levels; coordinate maintenance windows and validation activities with IT operations.
  • Monitor network and endpoint activity to identify issues; communicate findings with IT teams and track remediation to closure.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, safety, and departmental standards, as directed by supervisor.
  • Support governance, risk, and compliance activities using relevant frameworks (e.g., NIST); gather evidence and coordinate control owners across departments.
  • Inspect infrastructure and hardware for vulnerable points of access; recommend and implement mitigation strategies in coordination with internal teams.
  • Manage firewall and network security device configurations and patch levels; coordinate changes with networking teams and maintain documentation.
