About The Position

The Information Security Specialist (INFOSEC) will provide comprehensive support to the Information Security Program, Industrial Security Program, and Foreign Disclosure Support. This role involves reviewing publications for public release, assisting with security education and guidance on classification markings, developing Security Classification Guides, and monitoring training requirements. The specialist will also liaise with the ONR contract office, review DD Form 254, and perform Foreign Disclosure Representative duties, including processing Foreign Visit Requests and providing foreign disclosure training. Additionally, the role requires advising senior leadership on regulations for classified and CUI information, assessing information sensitivity, and assisting in the prevention and reporting of security violations.

Requirements

  • An associate's degree from an accredited institution and one (1) year of relevant experience as a security specialist OR a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and three (3) years of relevant experience as a security specialist.
  • Functional knowledge of Defense Information System for Security (DISS) or other automated database system.
  • Functional knowledge of Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and Real-time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS).
  • SECRET clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Review proposed publications for public release, enforcing all relevant security policies.
  • Assist in the INFOSEC education program, provide guidance on proper classification marking (Classified and CUI), support the development of Security Classification Guides (SCGs), and monitor Original Classification Authority (OCA) annual training requirements.
  • Develop and maintain liaison with the ONR contract office and Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs) to assist in managing the Industrial Security Program.
  • Review DD Form 254, Contract Security Classification Specifications, and provide guidance to CORs and Program Managers on their preparation.
  • Perform Foreign Disclosure Representative (FDR) duties for ONR.
  • Coordinate with the ONR Foreign Disclosure Officer (FDO) on Foreign Visit Requests (FVRs).
  • Make recommendations on the release of information to foreign government representatives.
  • Conduct initial and annual refresher foreign disclosure training.
  • Advise senior leadership on regulations governing the access, dissemination, and safeguarding of classified and CUI information.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to assess information sensitivity and risk.
  • Assist in the prevention and reporting of security violations.
