About The Position

We are seeking an Information Security Specialist to support and enhance our cybersecurity operations. This role is integral to protecting sensitive data, maintaining compliance with federal regulations, and strengthening our overall security posture. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in security operations, IT systems, or a related technical discipline. Requirements

  • Experience in cybersecurity, systems administration, network administration, IT support, or a related technical role.
  • Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, common threats, security controls, and incident response concepts.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows environments, endpoint protection, and enterprise IT operations.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document work clearly and collaborate across teams.
  • Interest in developing expertise in security operations and compliance within a regulated defense or aerospace environment.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to compliance frameworks such as CMMC and NIST SP 800-171
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, defense, or other regulated environments
  • Relevant certifications including CompTIA Security+, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), or Microsoft Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts, investigate anomalous activity, and administer endpoint protection, MFA, VPN, and email security tools.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior team members as appropriate.
  • Support audit-readiness initiatives aligned with CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, and ITAR requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation to support compliance objectives and internal security projects.
  • Assist with phishing response and security awareness campaigns.
  • Provide end-user guidance on secure practices and serve as a point of contact for security-related inquiries.
  • Support incident triage, evidence collection, and documentation.
  • Assist with post-incident follow-up and lessons-learned activities under the guidance of senior cybersecurity personnel.
  • Monitor and investigate security alerts, escalating threats as necessary.
  • Administer and support core security tools including endpoint protection, MFA, VPN, and email filtering.
  • Support phishing investigations and contribute to user security awareness initiatives.
  • Contribute to compliance and audit-readiness efforts for CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, and CUI protection.
  • Maintain accurate, accessible documentation for security processes and compliance records.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, engineering, and operations to improve security posture.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and professional judgment.
