About The Position

The Crisis Management, Specialist supports the execution and continuous improvement of TD Bank’s first line of defense crisis management capability. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Crisis Management, this role helps coordinate preparedness, response, escalation, documentation, and post-incident improvement activities to ensure the organization can effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from business disruptions, operational incidents, and high-impact events. The role works closely with business, risk, technology, cyber, physical security, communications, legal, and operations partners to support an integrated and well-governed crisis management response.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in crisis management, operational resilience, business continuity, incident management, enterprise risk, or a related discipline within a large or complex organization.
  • Experience supporting crisis management, business continuity, incident response, or operational readiness activities, preferably within financial services, banking, or another regulated industry.
  • Good understanding of crisis management frameworks, business continuity principles, operational resilience practices, and escalation processes.
  • Experience coordinating exercises, incident response activities, stakeholder meetings, action tracking, and post-incident documentation.
  • Working knowledge of risk management practices, control environments, and regulatory expectations relevant to large organizations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear briefings, summaries, and documentation for review by senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to synthesize information quickly, remain organized under pressure, and support decision-making in ambiguous or fast-moving situations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the bank’s first line of defense crisis management processes, tools, and documentation.
  • Maintain crisis management playbooks, escalation protocols, contact lists, and supporting materials in alignment with enterprise standards and direction from the Senior Manager.
  • Coordinate preparedness activities, including crisis simulations, tabletop exercises, training sessions, and readiness reviews.
  • Support response to significant incidents and disruptions by coordinating meetings, documenting decisions, tracking actions, and supporting timely escalation.
  • Prepare situational updates, impact summaries, briefing materials, and decision-support documentation for review by the Senior Manager and senior stakeholders.
  • Partner with business continuity, operational resilience, cyber, technology, physical security, legal, communications, compliance, and risk teams to support an integrated response capability.
  • Support crisis communications processes by coordinating inputs and helping prepare internal updates in partnership with communications teams.
  • Monitor emerging threats, risk trends, and external events that could impact the bank’s operations, customers, reputation, or regulatory obligations.
  • Support post-incident reviews by documenting lessons learned, tracking corrective actions, and preparing summary reporting to support program improvement.
  • Assist with executive, governance, and regulatory reporting related to crisis readiness, incidents, exercises, and remediation activities.
  • Help ensure third-party and critical service dependencies are considered within crisis planning and response activities.
  • Contribute to team effectiveness by supporting strong execution, accountability, documentation discipline, and cross-functional collaboration.
