About The Position

The Information Security Engineer (ISE) will be responsible for defining, delivering and supporting the Customer Identity & Access Management Infrastructure, Architecture and Engineering at Fifth Third Bank. The ISE will collaborate closely with peers across the bank in other LOBs such as Digital, Consumer and Information Security. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or comparable education
  • Experience with Java application development plus one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Python, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, or GO.
  • Experience working with one or more from the following: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, networking, authentication/authorization and/or security software development.
  • Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
  • Experience deploying applications into cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud or Azure
  • Strong problem solving and collaboration skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of modern identity work flows (OIDC/OAuth/SAML)
  • Financial industry experience is a plus.
  • Agile Development Experience
  • Experience working with Ping Directory configuration, administration and deployment
  • Experience working with Ping Federate, customizing PF Adapters and deploying Ping Federate in a cloud environment
  • Experience working with Ping Federate to setup and configure OAuth, SAML and/or OIDC clients.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new features in a Java/J2EE microservices architecture, while continuously improving quality of technical products and applications
  • Work collaboratively with other software engineers to define system architectures and design solutions to complex customer identity problems
  • Develop software meeting code quality standards and metrics
  • Participate in communities of practice by contributing to and following standards, reviewing others code, sharing knowledge, and required SDLC guidelines.
  • Remain current on IT trends pertaining to their area of practice
  • Assist with problem resolution for end users and customers
  • Contribute to the definition of operational procedures for software development
  • Maintain appropriate controls and documentation to ensure compliance of audit requirements
  • Participate in our on-call support rotation
  • Other duties as assigned
