About The Position

The Co-op will be joining the Attack Surface Management Team in Information Security, supporting multiple teams across the company to minimize potential attack surfaces by assisting with vulnerability management reporting procedures, operating systems baseline compliance, and monitoring for third-party vendor threats. You will work closely alongside other functions within Information Security such as Security Operations, Threat Intelligence, and Third-Party Risk Teams to better understand how to prioritize technology team stakeholders on Attack Surface issues needing remediation.

Working in this role requires a high degree of organizational and problem-solving skills given the project nature of the role.
The individual must be self-motivated and detail-oriented, with an ability to prioritize ongoing and time sensitive goals.
A successful candidate for this role will possess a high degree of professionalism and have enthusiasm, an eagerness to learn, interest in financial markets, and a sense of humor.
Strong academic credentials are required.
Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Only Northeastern University students are eligible for this program.

Responsibilities

Develop reporting that is produced by Attack Surface Management tools that highlights misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, threat actors, and geopolitical events that could cause issues in the environment.
Monitor and escalate systems or applications that are in non-compliant with baseline security controls.
Work with the Third-Party Risk Program to report cyber events stemming from third-party vendors.
Generate reports for issues stemming from our internal Software Development Life Cycle.
Follow defined Standard Operating Procedures to escalate findings to the appropriate stakeholder(s).
Participate in Threat Intelligence briefings by providing reports and other insights to the team.
Track and Maintain status of open items and tasks.
Build and Improve workflows to allow for scalability of operations.
Respond to, or route, inbound requests and other inquiries from technology teams to senior personnel.
Work closely with the Security Operations to understand what threats are targeting corporate systems and subsequent containment actions.
