About The Position
The City of Visalia is recruiting for the position of Information Security Analyst. The selected Security Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and managing the City’s technology security posture. The Security Analyst will align the City’s security posture with industry best practices and controls, evaluate, analyze, respond to, and resolve enterprise security issues, concerns, questions, incidents, and events. This position will work with all departments in the development of information security training, standards, and practices.
Requirements
- Solid background in information security fundamentals.
- Experience managing security systems such as IDS, IPS, SIEM.
- Solid understanding of network architecture and compliance standards.
- Organized and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good communication skills required to communicate with other departments.
- Willingness and desire to continue learning the skills necessary to be an effective Information Security Analyst.
- College degree (BS/BA) in business information systems, computer science or a related field.
- Two years of job-related experience in information security.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California driver's license by time of appointment.
- Within one year of employment, obtain a Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) through the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc., or (ISC)² and maintain this certification throughout the course of employment in the position.

- Graduates of an accredited program with a cybersecurity focus or industry related certifications such as SSCP or (ISC)².
