Nightwing seeks a full-time Information Review and Release Analyst (full-performance level) in the Herndon, VA area in support of a dynamic Intelligence Community component . The position requires an individual to review and thoroughly research requests for the release of information in accordance with one or more of the following: the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act (PA), and Executive Order Mandatory Declassification Review (EOMDR) programs and Executive Order (EO) 13526 directive. These requests are submitted directly to the IC component by the general public , Presidential Libraries, internal routing, or received upon referral or coordination from other government agencies. The person in this position serves as an Analyst and/or Case Manager for the Public Interest Review Team (PIRT), from the receipt of the initial request letter, to creating case documentation and researching prior requests. They also review information and make recommendations which includes collaborating with across offices and directorates prior to the final consolidation of equity-holder response and release decisions back to the requester. The candidate must be able to successfully apply critical-thinking skills when evaluating each unique case and t hen utiliz e a broad array of customer systems and tools in order to accurately execute the review and release process. Due to the complexity of most requests, time management and the ability to collaborate with other team members is a must . The selected candidate must be able to consistently deliver high-quality, accurate work, and be willing to perform ad hoc duties as needed. Candidates are able to explore their creative side for identifying process improvement ideas.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience reviewing & redacting classified information for the Sponsor or Intelligence Community (IC) . We w ill also consider candidates with one or more years of experience in a position requiring analytic skills (such as intelligence analysts, foreign disclosure officers, CD/CI/CT analysts, etc.) AND a demonstrated familiarity with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act (PA), and Executive Order Mandatory Declassification Review (EOMDR) programs and Executive Order (EO) 13526 directive .
  • A driven self-starter who collaborates with client staff and has the capability to recommend and to adapt to new processes

  • Skilled in time management with the ability to prioritize competing tasks and multitask in order to meet tight deadlines

  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and various management levels delivering a proactive experience and approach to high quality services for all stake holders
  • Must possess an active TS//SCI clearance with Poly on day one of employment

Responsibilities

  • Review & redact certain equities within classified documents, records and files in accordance with established standard operating procedures, workflows and policies.
  • Submit request s to the scanning team to scan any documents needed for research
  • Submit requests to the search team to conduct the initial of search for data relevant to the case
  • Collaborate with supervisory client POCs to recommend and implement changes that improves processes, workflows and standard operating procedures
  • Works an eight-hour shift between 6:00AM -6:00PM, Monday-Friday. Infrequently provides surge support outside of normal office hours for short-fused emergent requests.
