About The Position

PSRS/PEERS is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented professional to join our Member Services team as an Information Center Specialist I. This role serves as the first point of contact for members, providing accurate, timely, and compassionate support regarding retirement benefits. The specialist will answer questions, solve problems, and guide members through complex processes, representing PSRS/PEERS with professionalism and care. A valid Missouri driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Serve as a knowledgeable and trusted resource for members regarding retirement eligibility, benefit plan options, purchases, refunds, and survivor benefits.
Provide clear, accurate, and thorough guidance via phone calls, emails, and live chats.
Conduct detailed reviews of membership records to understand each member’s unique situation.
Calculate personalized benefit estimates.
Assist members in registering for educational seminars and counseling sessions.
Troubleshoot website and online account issues.
Prepare verification letters.
Document every interaction with precision.
Initiate workflows to ensure follow-up tasks are completed efficiently and consistently.
Maintain a strong understanding of the statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures that govern the retirement systems.
Provide personalized benefit estimates.
Walk members through complex retirement scenarios.
Help members evaluate options that can have long-term financial implications.
Troubleshoot online account issues.
Assist with navigating the PSRS/PEERS website.
Manage seminar registrations.
Represent PSRS/PEERS at in-person events and informational meetings across the state.
Play an important role in system testing for pension administration enhancements, annual benefit statements, and tax forms.
Support other departments through a variety of administrative tasks during periods of lighter call volume.
