About The Position

SimVentions is seeking an Information Assurance Specialist to support a new and emerging Navy tactical system that integrates with electronic warfare (EW) systems. This role involves working on a high-visibility Naval information system, learning test assets and environments, maintaining test equipment, and collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure successful test events. The specialist will also assist with testing and configuration/data management tasks.

Requirements

  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification or higher.
  • Linux operating system certification or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Hands-on experience administering and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
  • Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting servers, workstations, virtual machines, and associated IT hardware/software.
  • Working knowledge of DoD cybersecurity and Information Assurance requirements, including RMF, STIG implementation, vulnerability scanning, SCAP compliance, POA&M management, and continuous monitoring.
  • Knowledge of security requirements associated with classified DoD network environments, including SIPRNET and/or SDREN.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory, test, or development environments, including hardware and software configurations.
  • Experience supporting software integration and test activities, including test execution, regression testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of test results and deficiencies.
  • Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, trouble reports, configuration records, and other engineering artifacts.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in an on-site, collaborative engineering and test environment and support scheduled test activities.
  • An Interim Secret Clearance is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Navy combat systems, electronic warfare systems, or other complex DoD tactical systems.
  • Familiarity with AN/SLQ-32(V)6/(V)7, Aegis, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), SKCS, or similar combat system environments.
  • Experience supporting RDT&E laboratories, tactical test beds, simulation/stimulation tools, and formal integration or qualification test events.
  • Experience with ACAS/Tenable, automated vulnerability scanning, configuration assessment, and security compliance tools.
  • Experience developing or maintaining Red Hat/EPEL repositories, software update processes, system images, or deployable system builds.
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management/Data Management (CM/DM) practices, including change control, status accounting, software baselines, audits, and release verification.
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence within an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Familiarity with GitLab, Docker/Podman, Cisco networking, Windows, SQL, and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience supporting Test Readiness Reviews, Formal Qualification Testing, certification events, land-based testing, or at-sea test events.
  • Experience handling classified material, technical data shipments, configuration-controlled media, DD1149s, or classified inventory/control processes.
  • Experience developing test plans, verification matrices, test reports, performance metrics, and technical presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for a new, high-visibility Naval information system that integrates with EW sensors.
  • Learn the test assets, test environments, and classified build environment in the SKCS lab.
  • Maintain the test equipment and troubleshoot operational issues with internal/external SMEs.
  • Collaborate with SMEs at IWSL ahead of CS integration events to understand test requirements and ensure a correct SKCS test environment.
  • Assist I&T team members with testing on an as needed basis.
  • Assist CM/DM team members with CM/DM tasking on an as needed basis.
  • Required knowledge of Linux (RHEL), Gitlab, Docker/Podman, and Cisco network switch configurations.
  • Desired knowledge of Windows, Agile, Scrum, SQL, and Combat System integration/test/certification.
