About The Position

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, at Spirit’s Defense Business Unit (“Spirit Defense”). Spirit Defense is an independent supplier to the defense and space marketplace. Through innovative engineering and rapid prototyping excellence, Spirit Defense provides the capabilities, technologies and support customers need to succeed in their missions. The First Level Manager will be responsible for managing personnel that monitor laws, regulations, industry standards, and best practices related to confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and ensure the implementation of these standards in the organization as required. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Wichita, KS location.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of related professional experience
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access (for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship)
  • Strong computer proficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD Security Clearance and/or Special Program Access
  • CISSP and/or CISM Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in a leadership role
  • Systems, vulnerability, infrastructure, and/or cyber security background
  • Cross-functional coordination/communication to achieve project goals
  • Knowledge of manufacturing business processes
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience; above-average Excel skills, some Microsoft Project skills

Responsibilities

  • Managing personnel that monitor laws, regulations, industry standards, and best practices related to confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and ensure the implementation of these standards in the organization as required
  • Develop, maintain, and interpret policies and procedures related to the protection of systems, networks, people, information, and property
  • Perform compliance and assessment activities related to information security, data privacy, incident management, and risk management
  • Collaboratively develop risk mitigation plans with subject matter experts and ensure accountability for these actions
  • Assess compliance, security, and control risks related to information systems and technical infrastructure
  • Develop training and education materials and promote information security awareness
  • Translate complex, technical concepts into business-relevant terms to facilitate effective decision making by non-technical personnel
  • Support audit activities - both internal and external, related to information security
  • May oversee and manage the DoD accreditation of secure operating systems and networks
  • Collaborate with federal oversight/regulatory agencies to ensure company/program compliance with DoD requirements
  • May manage information systems access requests and administer security awareness training programs
  • May require DoD Security Clearance eligibility and information system security certifications
