About The Position

Provides advanced analytical, administrative, and technical support services to the office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel (CDC), specifically in the management of computer programs, statistical data, information technology, and technical writing. This position involves frequent contact with other departments and regional/field offices of the State Bar of Texas, the public and other individuals and organizations outside the State Bar.

Requirements

  • Experience in using legal case management software, performing business process evaluations, and principles, practices and techniques of current computer technologies required.
  • Experience in developing, compiling, analyzing, and interpreting statistical data.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Requires extensive knowledge and experience with personal computer software and relational database systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access; Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with major coursework in management information systems and business writing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Department liaison to the State Bar Information Technology Department in the development and maintenance of software for the disciplinary system.
  • Provides in-depth and ongoing software training to CDC employees statewide, implements new case management processes as they relate to the case management software, and troubleshoots problems encountered the software.
  • Prepares and reviews software-generated routine statistical reports for accuracy and data integrity for dissemination to the State Bar Board, the Commission for Lawyer Discipline, the media, and other interested persons.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the case management software standard operating procedures manual for the attorney discipline system.
  • Proactively evaluates opportunities for continuous process improvement, including researching emerging technologies in software and hardware resources for the discipline system.
  • Researches and responds to requests from Texas attorneys concerning grievances.
  • Assists the Chief Disciplinary Counsel and others with special projects.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
