About The Position

This is a limited tenure position with an end date of 12/31/2027. The role requires the candidate to be within 100 miles of a Mayo Campus. The position will be filled by one of the following: Informatics Nurse, Informatics Nurse Specialist, Informatics Clinician, or Informatics Clinician Specialist. These roles involve working within the scope of a project to deliver informatics solutions that support clinical practice from planning through full adoption and evaluation. They focus on the design and use of informatics solutions that align with Mayo Clinic's vision and mission. The professionals in these roles serve as a bridge between clinical and operational departments, linking clinical practice, processes, technology, and information to enhance patient care across all Mayo locations. A key responsibility includes coordinating the change management process, which involves revising workflows and standardizing policies to successfully implement automated systems. The practice is based on the American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of Nursing Informatics Practice, ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, and ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. Both the Informatics Nurse and Informatics Nurse Specialist roles are eligible for TN sponsorship, which requires state licensure and completion of VisaScreen or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver informatics solutions that support the practice from planning through full adoption.
  • Work on the design and use of informatics solutions that support the vision and mission of Mayo Clinic.
  • Serve as a bridge between clinical and operational departments, linking clinical practice, processes, technology, and information to enhance patient care.
  • Coordinate the change management process, including revising workflows and standardizing policies to successfully implement automated systems.
  • Provide leadership, consultation, and direction for information technology that impacts clinical nursing information management from planning through evaluation (for Specialist roles).
  • Serve as a bridge between the Department of Nursing and other institutional groups (for Specialist roles).
  • Serve as a bridge between clinical departments and other institutional groups (for Clinician Specialist roles).
