About The Position

This position is a Limited Tenure position, meaning employment will be terminated at the established end date (approximately 12 months from date of hire). The employee commits to staying in this position until the end of the tenure before becoming eligible to transfer to a new position. After the completion of the limited tenure assignment, it is the employee's responsibility to secure another role within Mayo through the job vacancy process, or employment will end upon completion of the limited tenure assignment. This role serves as a bridge between all clinical and operational departments, linking clinical practice, processes, technology, and information to enhance patient care across all Mayo locations. The role coordinates the change management process, including revising workflows and standardizing policies to successfully implement automated systems. The practice is based on the American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of Nursing Informatics Practice, ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, and ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.

Requirements

  • Must be a local resident within the greater Phoenix area.
  • Internal candidates must have 2 years of work experience with Mayo Clinic.
  • External candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of clinical informatics experience.
  • This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship and we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position.

  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver informatics solutions that support the practice from planning through full adoption.
  • Work on the design and use of informatics solutions that support the vision and mission of Mayo Clinic.
  • Serve as a bridge between all clinical and operational departments linking clinical practice, processes, technology and information to enhance patient care across all Mayo locations.
  • Coordinate the change management process, including revising workflows and standardizing policies to successfully implement automated systems.
  • Provide leadership, consultation, and direction for information technology that impacts clinical nursing information management from planning through evaluation (for Specialist role).
  • Serve as a bridge between the Department of Nursing and other institutional groups, linking clinical practice, technology, and information management to enhance patient care (for Specialist role).
