We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Infectious Disease Physician (MD/DO) to deliver on-site infectious disease consultative services in skilled nursing and long-term care settings. The physician will manage complex infections, oversee antimicrobial therapy, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and Advanced Practice Providers.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency
  • Active and unrestricted New York State medical license
  • DEA registration
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Infectious Disease

Nice To Haves

  • Fellowship training in Infectious Disease preferred
  • Experience in SNF/LTC or post-acute care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide infectious disease consultations for SNF/LTC residents
  • Diagnose and manage complex infections including pneumonia, UTIs, bacteremia, osteomyelitis, wound infections, HIV, and viral hepatitis
  • Direct antimicrobial therapy including IV and oral regimens
  • Order, interpret, and act upon cultures, labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies
  • Lead and support antimicrobial stewardship initiatives
  • Supervise and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and facility clinical staff
  • Advise on infection prevention, isolation, and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure accurate, timely EMR documentation in accordance with CMS and state requirements
