About The Position

This position is responsible for the development, coordination, evaluation and oversight of the Deer's Head Hospital Center (DHHC's) Infection Prevention and Control Program. This position also oversees the Supervisor of Supports Services and Patient/Resident Scheduling and Transports.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university.
Four years of experience as a Registered Nurse to include two years in the Medical option and one year in a supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity.
Current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215 or possess a current multi-state license in party states that candidates have declared as primary states of residence.
Employees assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
Employees in this classification are subject to call-in and, therefore, will be required to provide the facility with a phone number at which they can be reached.

Nice To Haves

Nursing leadership and quality improvement experience (critical for the oversight of The Infection Prevention and Control Program)
Experience and/or knowledge of Infection Prevention Surveillance activities based on regulatory standards (CMS, The Joint Commission, OHCQ, COMAR)
Proficient utilization of technology to drive efficient infection prevention surveillance, streamline reporting, and improve departmental communications awhile upholding rigorous standards for data accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance
Certifications in Infection Control (CIC) and/or certification in Infection Prevention and Control for Long-Term Care (LTC-CIP)
