About The Position

The Infection Preventionist conducts targeted infection surveillance activities, including the investigation of infections and the response to outbreaks among patients and/or personnel. The Infection Preventionist recommends and provides education on appropriate preventive measures to control the spread of infection and promote a safe healthcare environment. The Infection Preventionist also ensures compliance with recommendations and standards established by regulatory and accrediting agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience is required.
  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or Associate-Infection Prevention and Control (a-IPC) certification within 2 years of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a Healthcare related field is preferred.
  • CIC is preferred.
  • Knowledge of infectious disease, epidemiology, asepsis and immunology, medical procedures, or medical and environmental microbiology is preferred.
