About The Position

Asbury Methodist Village, a part of Asbury Communities, Inc., is seeking an Infection Preventionist RN to lead in infection prevention. This role involves creating a learning environment based on evidence-based practice, teaching clinical skills to various healthcare professionals, and developing professional development plans. The Infection Preventionist will support clinical leaders in developing action and performance improvement plans, provide constructive feedback, and support the development and implementation of clinical programs, initiatives, standards, and policies. This position also involves designing, assessing, and evaluating educational programs, collaborating with partners, and functioning as a change agent and leader who advocates for nursing and nursing education. The role serves as the community Infection Preventionist.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience within the past 5 years in a long-term care or acute care setting, gerontology preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical teaching experience within the past 5 years.
  • Registered Nurse; licensed in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • BSN required; MSN preferred. Experience may be substituted instead of education.
  • Certification in Infection Prevention & Control

Nice To Haves

  • ANCC Certification in Gerontological Nursing and/or Nursing Education preferred.
  • Completion of coursework in adult education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Creates a learning environment based on evidence-based practice using a variety of teaching strategies appropriate for the adult learner.
  • Teaches clinical skills to RNs, CNAs, LPNs, and ancillary staff.
  • Ability to build professional development plans for and with learners to develop their skills and assist in advancing their professional practice.
  • Supports clinical leaders in the development of action plans and performance improvement plans (PIPs) to ensure best practices.
  • Provide constructive, and thoughtful feedback to learners.
  • Supports the development and implementation of clinical programs, initiatives, standards, and policies.
  • Designs, assesses, and evaluates the effectiveness of educational programs and outcomes.
  • Collaborates with community and clinical partners to support educational goals.
  • Functions as a change agent and leader who advocates for nursing and nursing education and participates in interdisciplinary efforts to address health care and educational needs within the facility, community, and system.
  • Serves as community Infection Preventionist.
