About The Position

Waters Edge Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Infection Preventionist Nurse to support resident health and well-being and help the nursing team provide quality care. The role oversees daily nursing operations and provides leadership, supervision, and clinical guidance to nursing staff. The nurse works closely with the Director of Nursing to support regulatory compliance and positive resident and family experiences.

The position is described as part-time, with the option to work full-time by taking on additional floor hours. Duties include infection surveillance, staff training, investigating exposure incidents, and ensuring infection prevention protocols are followed. The role also involves resident care oversight, quality improvement, care planning, education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and participation in an on-call leadership rotation.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin.
• Infection Preventionist certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Strong knowledge of infection control standards and nursing best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Conduct clinical rounds and monitor resident care plans.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives.
• Assist with care planning and interdisciplinary communication.
• Conduct infection surveillance and staff training.
• Investigate exposure incidents and implement follow-up actions.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on prevention and care.
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams.
• Participate in an on-call leadership rotation.
