About The Position

Medical Hill Healthcare Center is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Infection Preventionist Nurse (LVN) to join our healthcare team. This position plays a vital role in developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control practices throughout the facility while promoting a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

  • Current California LVN/LPN license in good standing.
  • Strong knowledge of infection prevention and control principles.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze infection trends and develop appropriate interventions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to educate and work collaboratively with staff across multiple departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in infection prevention, skilled nursing, post-acute care, or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the facility's infection prevention and control program.
  • Conduct routine infection surveillance and identify trends or potential outbreaks.
  • Monitor compliance with infection prevention policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate suspected or confirmed infections and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate infection control records, reports, and documentation.
  • Provide infection prevention education and training to nursing staff and other facility employees.
  • Monitor hand hygiene, PPE use, isolation precautions, and other infection control practices.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership, physicians, laboratory personnel, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Assist with outbreak investigations and implementation of appropriate prevention and containment measures.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives related to infection prevention.
  • Stay current with applicable infection prevention guidelines, regulations, and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by facility leadership.
