About The Position

Saratoga Medical is hiring one Infection Prevention & QAPI Nurse for an onsite contract opportunity at a long-term care facility serving veterans in Bemidji, Minnesota. The contract may be extended. The nurse will manage infection prevention and quality improvement activities. The schedule is 40 hours per week onsite, with additional urgent outbreak consultations.

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted Minnesota RN license.
• At least 2 years of long-term care nursing experience with infection prevention and/or quality improvement responsibilities.
• CDC/CMS Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training certificate.
• Ability to pass the Minnesota DHS background study and criminal background check.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• TB screening and immunizations.

Responsibilities

• Run the infection prevention program.
• Manage surveillance, outbreak response, and reporting to the Minnesota Department of Health.
• Conduct hand hygiene and personal protective equipment (PPE) audits.
• Manage vaccination programs and antibiotic stewardship.
• Coordinate QAPI committee activities.
• Manage quality data, Performance Improvement Projects (PIPs), and root cause analysis.
• Maintain survey readiness.
