About The Position

Webster Manor Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is hiring a full-time Infection Control/Wound Nurse. The candidate may be an LPN or RN. The role plans, organizes, develops, coordinates, directs, and evaluates the infection control program and its components to ensure an effective program is maintained, and oversees wound programming. The facility is a 135-bed skilled nursing facility.

Requirements

Possess, at minimum, a nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing, college, or university.
Possess a current, unencumbered license to practice nursing in Massachusetts.
Be CPR-certified.
Have two years of clinical experience in a long-term care facility.
Have training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
Possess working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic techniques, including standard precautions.

Responsibilities

Maintain, execute, and oversee the comprehensive Infection Control and Prevention Program.
Communicate and inform the Infection Control and Prevention Committee of infection-related issues.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation related to the Infection Control and Prevention Program.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation related to the facility Skin Integrity Program.
Evaluate infection-related practices in the facility through monthly surveillance rounds.
Maintain updated community awareness of potentially threatening infections.
Assist the Staff Development Director in educating employees about Infection Control Practices, Policies, and Procedures.
Coordinate and report on the Annual OSHA Sharps survey.
