About The Position

The Infection Control Coordinator performs housekeeping and janitorial tasks to ensure the cleanliness of the houses. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for residents, adhering to AHCA regulations and infection control best practices.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least one (1) year working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, squatting, and physical exertion of upper and lower body muscles for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. in a safe and appropriate manner utilizing standard orientation techniques.
  • May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting, standing and/or squatting in performance of job duties.
  • Must be able to hear, see, and communicate effectively in writing, using the English language, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff, exercising effective problem-solving, reasoning, and critical thinking skills.
  • May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies to include, but not limited to, pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboards, telephone, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties following the daily housekeeping schedule/checklist, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting furniture, cleaning interior windows, air conditioning vents, door handles, time clocks, electric door openers, bed rails, bedroom door knobs, restrooms, showers, shower tables, shower chairs, toilet seats, and bedroom walls.
  • Cleans and sanitizes sensory rooms and all items within.
  • Completes daily housekeeping checklist and places it in the housekeeping binder.
  • Ensures adequate and appropriate materials and supplies are available in all areas (bedrooms, kitchens, restrooms).
  • Keeps chemical/housekeeping closets, linen room, laundry room, living room, and supply shed neat, clean, and organized.
  • Cleans all administration offices weekly.
  • Checks for cigarette butts daily in designated smoking areas and reports violations of the smoking policy.
  • Cleans all exterior windows and doors.
  • Disposes of all boxes and housekeeping-related trash.
  • Follows the direction set by ICF Administrator to remain in accordance with AHCA regulations.
  • Assists with maintaining a safe environment for the residents.
  • Reports any problems/unsafe conditions to ICF Administrator/Residential Manager as soon as possible.
  • Properly maintains housekeeping equipment and promptly reports repair and maintenance issues.
  • Completes plans of correction from Infection Control Surveys/Inspections in a timely manner.
  • Attends meetings as required/requested.
  • Performs direct care duties as assigned.
  • Orders materials as needed.
