About The Position

This role involves conducting pre-event planning and providing specific Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) related to small unit leadership training. The position also contributes to scenario designs to ensure key training and readiness events are included, aiming to improve decision-making skills and individual actions in simulated combat situations. The Infantry Subject Matter Expert (IIT) & Scenario Designer will provide supervision and support during Infantry Immersion Training, assist assigned observer/controllers, contribute to after-action reviews, and identify areas for remediation. They will also recommend immediate corrective actions during rehearsals and conduct pre-event coordination with training units to ensure understanding of prerequisites, preparation, and planning.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Management, or another Business-related field. In lieu of degree, relevant work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Minimum four (4) years demonstrated knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at the squad through company level.
Current experience with TTPs and lessons learned from official sources related to overseas contingency operations and battlefield environments.
Familiarity with Marine Corps Systems Approach to Training (SAT), scenario development, exercise design and T&R requirements.
Must be familiar with training systems management and operations.
Must be able to work conjunctively with the role player management team to ensure all training is completed, effectively and efficiently (Pre, During and Post Training).
Must be able to meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a minimum of Secret clearance issued by the U.S. Government (generally, this requires U.S. Citizenship).
Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy.
Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving.

Nice To Haves

Combat arms skills background and combat experience preferred.
Currency with TTPs, Lessons Learned, and OPFOR from real world operations preferred.
Experience in curriculum development desired.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written, develop and present training effectiveness analysis, performance metrics and routine reports.
Strong leadership, team building and organizational attributes.
Subject matter expertise in exercise design, scenario development, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP), and training and readiness (T&R) events for use in a live, virtual and constructive training (LVC-TE).
Specifically oriented on skills that help individuals and small unit leaders to perform their duties in the IIT and maximize unit training effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Provide supervision and support during the conduct of Infantry Immersion Training.
Assist unit assigned observer/controllers.
Input for after actions reviews and identify critical areas for remediation.
Recommend immediate corrective actions during rehearsals.
Conduct and support all pre-event coordination with the training unit and ensure understanding of appropriate pre-requisite training, preparation, and planning.
Provide exercise design (the linage of training events to training objectives and METLS).
Provide recommendations on resources available to meet unit training needs.
Provide quality assurance for any training support for the units.
Conduct task linkage to develop the appropriate list of individual and collective tasks necessary to support the stated objectives.
Work with scenario design personnel to create training support documents that incorporate the desired tasks into scripted actions.
Develop a training scenario tailored that enables unit commanders to attain PTP objectives.
Review and implement training standards for all listed tasks as well as tactical considerations for employment.
Observe actions and cue events in support of stated training objectives and METs.
Lead performance discussions with the unit commanders to help determine decision points and relevant criteria, as well as possible options to facilitate learning.
Provide performance assessment recommendations to the unit Chain of Command in support of unit assessments.
Play a major role in support of unit training execution and after-action review.
Provide recommendation based on experience, background, and training in the areas of Combat experience in ground combat arms military occupational Specialty (MOS), Combat Hunter and/or Enhanced Combat Hunter Leaders Course.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
