About The Position

You will serve as a team member in an assigned staff group and plan and implement programs for infants and toddlers. You will also implement classroom programs in compliance with CCG standards, Early Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC criteria, and local and state licensing standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • INFANT TODDLER Child Development Associate (CDA) or Associate's degree in child development or related field required
  • One-year experience working with young children required
  • Must demonstrate desire to work with young children, have general knowledge of “normal” growth and development
  • Must demonstrate ability to work as a team member and work effectively with all levels of staff, parents and center volunteers
  • Must demonstrate good organizational skills and written and oral communication skills
  • Regular and prompt attendance required
  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license
  • Driving record must comply with CCG's automobile insurance carrier requirements
  • Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation
  • Ability to travel locally or out of town as required
  • Must submit to and successfully pass all required CCG and Partner Program background checks throughout employment. These include FBI, Fingerprinting, Neglect and Abuse, Federal, State, Local, and Sex Offender background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Manages classroom environment.
  • Shares responsibility of setting up room for daily activities.
  • Provides attractive and functional learning centers.
  • Assists in planning, preparation and implementation of work with children appropriate to development level based on RC3; includes developing curriculum, completing child assessments, maintaining records, etc.
  • Understands the routine of each classroom in which he/she may work.
  • Develops good relations with children and their families.
  • Serves as a team member in assigned classroom.
  • Requires the acquisition of knowledge and proficiency of the Head Start Electronic Information System and/or Redelearner Database within the introductory period of employment.
  • Works under supervision of the Early Childhood Center Manager and/or Children’s Program Coordinator with indirect supervision from Lead Teacher.
  • Participates in parent meetings and parent conferences.
  • Assists in the inventory of and request for equipment and supplies.
  • Participates in entry process of child into care giving group.
  • Complies with all CCG policies and procedures including, but not limited to, EEO/Affirmative Action, ADA, Conduct, Conflict of Interest, Solicitation and Safety.
  • Assumes responsibility for daily classroom program in Lead Teacher’s absence.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
