About The Position
Early Head Start Teacher – Infant & Toddler Classroom (1- & 2-Year-Olds) Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking caring and passionate early childhood educators to join our Early Head Start team. This position works with 1- and 2-year-old children in a nurturing classroom environment that supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development while building strong partnerships with families.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for early childhood education and family engagement
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.
Nice To Haves
- Infant/Toddler CDA credential preferred or willingness to obtain
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide nurturing care and supervision for infants and toddlers
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate classroom activities and routines
- Foster children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment
- Observe and assess children’s developmental progress
- Communicate regularly with families regarding children’s growth and daily activities
- Conduct parent conferences and home visits as required
- Collaborate with classroom staff and support specialists
- Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing requirements
