This position is considered Seasonal Full-Time, with an approximate start date in March/April and running through December, including some downtime during the off-peak period. The Infant/Toddler Teacher will plan and conduct classroom instructional curriculum and activities for assigned children to implement a curriculum that encourages the growth of language, social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and communication skills. They will supervise and monitor the work activities of assigned Teacher Aide(s), Classroom Floaters and Volunteers, conduct and monitor developmental screening of children, and assist in collaborating and implementing Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs). The role involves monitoring the progress of individual children, performing daily health checks, and participating in home visits with parents of assigned children and conducting parent-staff conferences. The teacher will prepare, maintain, and present records, documents, reports, reviews, and databases. They may perform duties of office staff and assist in interviewing, hiring, and evaluation of Teacher Aides. The position requires representing the MSHS program to the community, local and regional educational agencies, and staying current on new educational practices, techniques, and objectives. The ability to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, provide children with experiences that foster curiosity, initiative, problem-solving skills, and creativity, and develop and implement clear, reasonable, consistent, and age-appropriate rules and expectations for children are essential. The role also requires the ability to multi-task, manage time, meet deadlines, and remain calm and professional under pressure, while maintaining confidentiality of client records and adhering to all CC Idaho policies, procedures, safety practices, and Head Start Performance Standards.
