About The Position

This is a FULL-TIME position for an INFANT-TODDLER CHILDCARE TEACHER ASSOCIATE (ages Infant-Toddler up to 3) at the Gerry Sweet Center, 351 NW 5th St, Miami FL, 33128. The schedule is daytime, Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week, mostly from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm with a 1-hour lunch, totaling 8 hours per day, year-round. The rate of pay is $16.89 per hour. The role is responsible for planning and implementing daily learning activities, nurturing children, managing and maintaining the Early Head Start classroom and its equipment and supplies, establishing and maintaining supportive relationships with infants, toddlers, and parents, and implementing developmentally appropriate routines and curriculum for infants and toddlers. Essential duties include planning and implementing individualized, developmentally appropriate, nurturing care for infants and toddlers in a center-based setting, coordinating use of community resources to enrich the learning environment, supporting the program philosophy that parents are the primary educators and nurturers of their children, enhancing the relationship of parents and their children by encouraging parent participation, overseeing and assisting with classroom cleanup and following universal precautions daily, and assisting children in transitioning at the beginning and end of each day and during field trips. The position also requires maintaining program standards regarding confidentiality and professional boundaries. ALL CDC PROTOCOLS FOR CHILD CARE ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

Requirements

  • FCCPC Birth – Five or CDA certification in Infant-Toddler required
  • DCF 45 hr. training certificates required
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Red Cross First Aid & CPR certificate
  • Certificate of good health and completed TB test required
  • Minimum 1 year in childcare services
  • Fingerprints, level 2 criminal background check, and drug test required

Nice To Haves

  • Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
  • CPR First Aid Certification (Preferred)
