Infant/Toddler Associate Teacher
About The Position
We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our Early Childhood Education team as an Associate Teacher. Requirements
- 12 semester units ECE/CD, with a grade C or better, or CDA Credential or CTC.
- Units must consist of the following core classes: Child Growth & Development, Child, Family & Community, or Child & Family Relations, ECE/CD Programs/Curriculum courses.
- For positions in our Infant/Toddler classroom, candidates must have 3 units of Infant/Toddler courses.
- Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher at the time of hire; candidates who do not possess the permit must qualify for and submit an application for the permit within 60 days of their start date.
- 6 months related experience with children ages 0-5 years of age.
- Depending on the department assigned, a valid California driver’s license, a current DMV driving record, and proof of insurance may be required to fulfill job-related travel.
Responsibilities
- Provide care and education for children ages 0-5, ensuring a positive and engaging learning experience.
- Collaborate with the Center Supervisor and Teachers to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
- Assume the responsibilities of a Teacher in their absence, guiding and supporting instructional assistants, parents, and volunteers.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children.
- Assist in planning and executing educational activities that promote child development.
- Participate in physical activities with children, including games, music, and outdoor play.
- Assist with bus supervision, ensuring the safety and engagement of children during transportation.
- Complete pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training within the first 30 days of hire.
- Complete 16 hours of training on preventative health practices and nutrition, as required by Health and Safety Code within the first 30 days of hire.
