About The Position

A warm, active, and low-key family in Shoreline is seeking a nurturing and dependable nanny to care for their infant son starting mid-August. The family consists of two parents, their soon-to-be 4-month-old son, and a friendly older dog. Their home environment is calm, safe, and respectful, with an emphasis on open communication and teamwork. While one parent may be home for part of each shift, the nanny will have primary responsibility for the infant during scheduled hours. Employment is guaranteed through at least November, with a strong possibility of extension as the family awaits daycare availability. The role requires an experienced infant nanny who is a self-starter, possesses strong infant care knowledge, remains calm and patient, and enjoys supporting developmental milestones. Excellent communication skills to keep parents informed about the baby's routine are essential. The ideal candidate is dependable, playful, nurturing, and genuinely enjoys providing attentive, hands-on care.

Requirements

  • Multiple years of hands-on infant experience
  • Previous professional infant care experience required
  • Confident caring for young infants independently
  • Infant CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Current on recommended vaccinations (TDAP required; flu vaccine preferred)
  • Non-smoker and non-vaper
  • Willing to complete a background check
  • Excellent professional references
  • Comfortable around a friendly senior dog
  • Strong communication skills and reliability
  • Glowing references from recent nanny positions
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds safely
  • Must be able to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day
  • Will need to be able to react quickly to certain situations
  • May need to react to emergent situations in a calm, effective and safe manner

Responsibilities

  • Providing loving, attentive care for one infant, including bottle feeding, diaper changes, naps, tummy time, age-appropriate play, and supporting developmental activities.
  • Taking neighborhood walks.
  • Washing bottles and baby-related dishes.
  • Completing the baby's laundry.
  • Keeping the nursery and baby spaces tidy.
  • Letting the dog into the yard.
  • Feeding the dog.
  • Giving the dog simple medication in a treat.
  • Independently managing the infant's routine and care.
