About The Position
The Learning Experience – South Lyon Township is seeking a nurturing and experienced Infant Lead Teacher to create a warm, responsive classroom for our youngest learners. Our Infant Lead Teachers combine attentive care with meaningful early learning experiences. Through responsive interactions, individualized routines, sensory exploration, and movement, you’ll help infants feel safe and secure while supporting important developmental milestones.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous professional infant or childcare classroom experience strongly preferred
- Ability to meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
Nice To Haves
- Lead Teacher experience preferred
- CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus
- Strong understanding of infant development and responsive caregiving
- Reliable, nurturing, patient, and team-oriented
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Lead daily routines in a safe and nurturing Infant classroom
- Support individualized feeding, diapering, sleep, and care schedules
- Implement age-appropriate sensory, movement, language, and early learning experiences
- Support physical, cognitive, language, and social-emotional development
- Follow appropriate safe sleep, sanitation, health, and safety practices
- Observe developmental progress and maintain required classroom documentation
- Build trusting relationships and communicate regularly with families
- Guide and collaborate with classroom support teachers
- Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom
- Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements
