About The Position

Birch Tree Academy is a STEM-based preschool that emphasizes academic development, discovery, and exploration of science, building, and everyday wonders. We are looking for a float teacher with great enthusiasm, patience, and a caring, kind heart. This role involves collaborating with the lead teacher and leading the class in all ways. The ideal candidate will help teach a class of 12 students, work a full-time schedule (40 hours a week), and help plan and teach daily activities and lessons that correspond with the curriculum. Responsibilities include promoting multi-cultural education, maintaining a safe and healthy environment, helping students learn classroom rules and procedures, using appropriate behavior management, attending to children's basic needs (feeding, dressing), supervising class projects, field trips, and guest teacher visits, establishing consistent communication with parents and children, and writing weekly class and individual student updates to parents.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience
  • Must have CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Must have impeccable references and a proven track record of caring and nurturing children
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
  • relevant: 3 years (Preferred)

  • Write weekly class and individual student updates to parents
