The Goddard School in Charlestown is opening a brand-new facility in February 2025 in the Charlestown Navy Yard. This is a unique opportunity to help build a school community from the ground up. Requirements

  • Certified by MA EEC for Infant/Toddler.
  • 1+ year of experience in a licensed childcare center.
  • Meet all MA EEC background check and fingerprinting requirements.
  • Knowledge of child safety and first-aid protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and flexible.
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs and move safely around the classroom.
  • Comfortable working any required 9-hour shift between 7 AM–6 PM (1 hour break).
  • Able to hear, see, speak, and move effectively in a childcare environment.
  • Capable of responding to emergencies and handling crisis situations involving children.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily class operations as part of a co-teaching team.
  • Plan and evaluate engaging activities.
  • Communicate with families.
  • Lead classrooms for babies and toddlers.
  • Create a dynamic and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in team collaboration and regular appreciation events.
  • Implement hands-on, inquiry-based curriculum.
  • Facilitate creativity and child-led projects.
  • Engage in daily parent communication via mobile app and in-person.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings (typically Tuesday, 6–8 PM during holiday weeks).
  • Respond to emergencies and handle crisis situations involving children.
