About The Position

The Infant Care Teacher at Happy Hall Schools provides exceptional care and creates a warm, responsive environment for infants ages 6 weeks to 18 months. Working collaboratively with the Lead Teacher, this role helps create a safe, nurturing classroom where each child feels secure, supported, and encouraged to learn through individualized care and developmentally appropriate experiences. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and passionate about early childhood development, while building strong partnerships with families during this important stage of growth.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or a high school graduate.
  • Must have 6 ECE units and be enrolled in or actively taking 6 additional units for a total of 12 ECE units.
  • Must have 3 Infant/Toddler units.
  • Experience and interest in working with infants and young children.
  • Being reliable and consistently punctual is a necessity.

  • Knowledge of infant development and responsive caregiving practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in providing attentive, responsive care to infants, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being at all times.
  • Support individualized care routines, including feeding, bottle preparation, diapering, sleeping, tummy time, and responsive interactions that promote healthy attachment and early development.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to each infant's cues, temperament, and developmental needs.
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate experiences that encourage sensory exploration, language development, movement, and early social interactions.
  • Observe, document, and support each child's developmental milestones.
  • Engage with infants throughout the day to encourage exploration, curiosity, and early learning.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming classroom that meets all licensing, health, and sanitation requirements.
  • Help prepare materials, sanitize equipment, organize supplies, and maintain accurate classroom records.
  • Ensure classroom materials are developmentally appropriate, sanitized, and well maintained.
  • Demonstrate patience, respect, and commitment to families while supporting the Lead Teacher in responding to family needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain professional and appropriate relationships with parents, teachers, and other staff.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences, family events, and other school activities as required.
