Become a part of the “strength within.” Hexcel is currently seeking an Industrialization Engineer for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA location. The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations: Maintain and manage pilot prepreg processing equipment and activities to support R&D efforts for internal and external customers Responsibilities include but are not limited to process continuous improvement, process quality, process safety, equipment maintenance, raw material procurement, and schedule attainment Investigate and design new prepreg processing equipment and technologies to produce next generation composite material Lead new product development efforts to scale fiber, resin, film, and prepreg products from pilot scale to production scale within Hexcel facilities Support product development efforts with internal R&D staff, Product Management, and Technical Development Management Ability to become an expert on resin, film, and prepreg related processing best practices and interfaces with global counterparts to share knowledge and learnings Training, indirectly managing, and developing technicians that operate the pilot scale equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in the field of chemistry, engineering or a related science; Strong preference for chemical, material science or mechanical engineers
• 5+ years of industry experience, preferably in a production, pilot or research environment.
• Industry experience with composite product scale up preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to translate customer needs into actual targets and products, self-starter, ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative team environment
• Ability to apply design of experiment concepts to hypothesis testing.
• Ability to perform measurement system analyses on new and existing IPC tests.
• Ability to apply statistical principles such as frequency distribution, ANOVA and regression to scientific principles.
• Technical report writing, data collection/analysis, strong attention to detail, and ability to set and meet deadlines.
• Ability to understand engineering requirements, safety requirements, standard operating procedures, and maintenance instructions.
• Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and ability to use team collaboration software (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint).
• Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel in different groups in both written and oral forms and ability to carry out written and/or oral instructions and procedures.
• Eligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in SolidWorks and Minitab is preferred.
• Green Belt training and/or certification strongly preferred.
