About The Position

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking an Industrial Welder for the 2nd Shift. The core hours for this position are 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. The hourly rate is $22.71/hour plus a $1.20/hour shift differential. Please note that the salary information provided is a general guideline and actual salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market/business considerations. This is a full-time position located in Sherman, TX. Eaton will not provide immigration sponsorship or support for this position.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year TIG and MIG welding.
  • Must have a High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Sherman, TX will be considered (Active Duty Military Service members are exempt).
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Weld Certified
  • Minimum of 2-3 years TIG/MIG Welding
  • Minimum of one (1) year utilizing blueprints (AWS weld symbols) and using simple measuring tools
  • Basic computer skills
  • Solid math skills; analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Working knowledge of weld operations, including TIG, MIG of stainless steel and/or aluminum
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally to frequently (33-66%) and up to 75 lbs. occasionally by stooping, reaching, bending
  • Ability to stand for eight hours plus and perform repetitious tasks
  • Ability to read blueprints and use simple measuring tools
  • Ability to follow directions, work independently, and close attention to detail
  • Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product
  • Ability to reach, grasp and manipulate
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays, as needed by the business
  • Requires PPE to include safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, leather gloves, and hearing protection (as required in high-noise areas)
  • Environment exposure includes sharp objects, pinch points, oil, and sparks.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, understand and proficiently operate all welding equipment.
  • Troubleshoot various and appropriate machine problems.
  • ID and tag shop orders with the product. Retrieve/enter data into the system.
  • Ensure quality and proper documentation on all parts.
  • Maintain components and supplies as required to operate efficiently.
  • Weld components based on print specifications.
  • Perform 5S & Continuous Improvement activities.
