About The Position

This position is responsible for creating a secure environment to facilitate the successful development and execution of classified programs at the assigned organization where classified information is stored, accessed, or where accessed personnel are assigned. This position reports directly to the Industrial Security Manager of Personnel Security (PERSEC) and provides PERSEC services in support of Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities. The Industrial Security Specialist - Personnel Security - will be joining a team-oriented staff, focused on collaborating and sharing experiences, to create streamlined processes that provide optimal support to internal and external customers. The Industrial Security Specialist will enforce strict adherence to applicable laws as well as national DoD, and other security policies and requirements. Coordination of classified matters with the respective government representatives will be at the forefront of their responsibilities. The Industrial Security Specialist will be charged with the establishment of quality training for assigned accessed personnel and conduct and document annual compliance inspections and develop Corrective Action Plans (CAP). This is an onsite role in our office in El Segundo, CA. This position’s internal job code is Industrial Security Specialist. Our team is currently hiring for level 2 or 3.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in industrial security, facilities security, personnel security, in a cleared environment (for Level 2)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial security, facilities security, personnel security, in a cleared environment (for Level 3)
  • Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility
  • Must be familiar with security policy/manuals and the appropriate ICDs/SEAD/DOD Manuals and other guiding policy documents
  • Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • U.S. citizens and eligible for a security clearance.
  • Willing to apply for and maintain a security clearance.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain various daily logs for a variety of administrative functions associated with PERSEC
  • Maintain tracking spreadsheets/local databases for customer PERSEC activities
  • Perform data entry and record checks in local and USG databases such as Joint Access Database (JADE) and maintain all customer sponsored personnel access information
  • Assist in maintaining personnel security files for all cleared personnel of the supported contract
  • Assist with providing support for security awareness and education program initiatives
  • Conducts miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by local PERSEC manager and/or the Government Security Representative
  • Review, track, and monitor security clearance processing activities with appropriate government personnel to achieve appropriate clearance actions
  • Prepare, process, and/or review Program Access Request (PARs) for accuracy and access eligibility
  • Execute Special Access Program Nomination Process Questionnaires
  • Routinely utilizes Defense Information Security Systems (DISS), and SCI and SAPNP to conduct risk assessments of candidates being submitted for access
  • Assist with scheduling indoctrination appointments and debriefing requests in collaboration with the government customer
  • Provides defensive foreign travel briefing to all cleared members and report all foreign travel and foreign contact updates to USG
  • Process classified inbound and outbound Visit Access Requests (VARs) as necessary to meet customer needs via DISS and/or JADE and program and identification badging duties
  • Assist with local and USG senior leaders and for Access Approval decisions
  • Complete all required technical and security training relative to assigned duties
  • Assist with initiating and maintaining records of annual self-inspections, security refresher training, indoctrinations, and inspections/staff assistance visits
  • Assist in Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities / Special Access Program Facilities and have a basic understanding of opening and securing spaces
