About The Position

The Industrial Security Guard will ensure the safety of all employees, visitors, contractors, truck drivers, and property at the location by monitoring traffic into and out of the location, and by performing other related responsibilities that contribute to the location’s safety. In the event of emergencies, this role responds to and provides appropriate treatment and transportation assistance to ensure the safety of sick or injured people at the location.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Prior industrial security experience.
• Willingness to train for Emergency Medical Technician certification.
• Ability and willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts, days, night shifts, and two weekends a month.
• Ability to climb stairs/ladders, balance, bend, kneel, sit and stand or walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally face to face and over the phone.

Responsibilities

• Administer first-aid treatment to sick or injured persons and transport to a medical facility if necessary.
• Remove or assist in the removal of injured persons from the scene of an accident.
• Communicates with professional medical personnel regarding the treatment and handling of sick or injured persons.
• Complete and maintain all necessary records, forms, logs, and paperwork required for services provided.
• Guard entrance gates, greet employees and visitors, and control traffic in and out of the plant.
• Log in and direct visitors, vendors, and contractors to appropriate locations of the plant.
• Inspect outgoing traffic to prevent unauthorized removal of company property.
• Answer phones and transfer calls to the appropriate department.
• Perform routine inspections of fire extinguishers and maintain inventory.
• Keep protective equipment and vehicles maintained.
• Conduct onsite drug or alcohol tests as directed by plant management.
• Communicate high alert weather conditions to all plant personnel.
• Train for and assist in technical rescue.
