About The Position

Sportsman Boats is looking for an Industrial Sewer who will be responsible for creating quality cushions for our premium boats. This involves cutting, measuring, and sewing, and ensuring an efficient manufacturing process for marine seating, including fabricating, repairing, and replacing seat upholstery, as well as complete seat-building duties. This is a full-time position. Our schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Hours may vary based on the needs of the company.

Requirements

Industrial sewing and or home sewing experience of one or more years required, must be able to pass the sewing test
Must be able to make and read patterns and be able to work with leather, vinyl, and foam rubber
Knowledgeable in the areas of material cutting, sewing, upholstery, and foam assembly
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision
Advanced verbal communication skills
Advanced time management and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
High School diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Experience sewing vinyl or leather in a fast-paced manufacturing facility
Bilingual English/Spanish

Responsibilities

Operate sewing machine to create high-quality cushions meeting daily/weekly production numbers of units.
Sewing machine setup (changing thread, bobbins, and needles as needed.)
Single needle prepping and joining
Create and cut patterns
Inspect cushions for defects, damage, or stains
Mark products, work pieces, or equipment with identifying information
Compare physical characteristics of materials or products to specifications or standards.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Execute additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
