About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Safety Supervisor to oversee safety protocols and compliance for a project in San José Chiapa, Puebla. This role requires a strong background in construction safety, contractor management, and adherence to Mexican safety regulations (NOM-031-STPS). The position is project-based, with an estimated duration of 18 months, starting around June 2026. The ideal candidate will have a significant field presence, performing daily inspections and ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel and contractors.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 full-time resources (Industrial Safety Supervisors / Coordinators)
  • Strong experience in construction safety
  • Strong experience in contractor management
  • Strong experience in NOM-031-STPS compliance
  • Automotive or industrial project experience preferred
  • Spanish required; English is a plus
  • 5+ years in industrial safety / EHS roles (construction or plant installation projects)
  • Proven experience managing multiple contractors on-site
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican safety regulations (STPS, NOMs, IMSS compliance)
  • Experience in permit-to-work systems
  • Experience in risk assessments
  • Experience in incident prevention
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-risk environments with strong field presence
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as DC-3, DC-5, or equivalent safety credentials preferred
  • Additional certifications (First Aid, Fire Safety, Risk Prevention) are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily on-site safety inspections (≥70% field presence)
  • Review and approve work permits for contractor activities
  • Identify risks and ensure implementation of corrective/preventive actions
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Lead daily safety walks, support monthly audits, and quarterly drills
  • Issue non-compliance reports and track closure
  • Maintain documentation and compliance evidence (digital and physical)
  • Support testing and commissioning safety oversight
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for OEM.
