About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Safety Supervisor to oversee safety protocols and compliance for a project in San José Chiapa, Puebla. This role requires a strong background in construction safety, contractor management, and adherence to Mexican safety regulations (NOM-031-STPS). The position is project-based, with an estimated duration of 18 months, starting around June 2026. The ideal candidate will have a significant field presence, performing daily inspections and ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel and contractors.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 full-time resources (Industrial Safety Supervisors / Coordinators)
- Strong experience in construction safety
- Strong experience in contractor management
- Strong experience in NOM-031-STPS compliance
- Automotive or industrial project experience preferred
- Spanish required; English is a plus
- 5+ years in industrial safety / EHS roles (construction or plant installation projects)
- Proven experience managing multiple contractors on-site
- Strong knowledge of Mexican safety regulations (STPS, NOMs, IMSS compliance)
- Experience in permit-to-work systems
- Experience in risk assessments
- Experience in incident prevention
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-risk environments with strong field presence
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field
Nice To Haves
- Relevant certifications such as DC-3, DC-5, or equivalent safety credentials preferred
- Additional certifications (First Aid, Fire Safety, Risk Prevention) are a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform daily on-site safety inspections (≥70% field presence)
- Review and approve work permits for contractor activities
- Identify risks and ensure implementation of corrective/preventive actions
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Lead daily safety walks, support monthly audits, and quarterly drills
- Issue non-compliance reports and track closure
- Maintain documentation and compliance evidence (digital and physical)
- Support testing and commissioning safety oversight
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for OEM.
