About The Position

We are seeking a Refrigeration Maintenance Technician for 1st Shift. The role involves performing skilled work in the operation, predictive and preventative maintenance, and repair of the facility’s real property, power industrial trucks, and plant facility systems. The technician will also operate and maintain the ammonia refrigeration system.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application OR a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program, HVAC/R program OR demonstrate completion of CIRO.CARO certification or within a relative field.
  • If training is not present, work experience must include a minimum of 6 months experience within an ammonia system.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration experience.
  • Industrial maintenance experience.
  • Boiler, ammonia and HVAC experience.
  • Required basic electrical troubleshooting experience including troubleshooting electrical circuits.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends.
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule if needed in a cold, wet, humid environment with temperatures ranging from 35 to 50 degrees.
  • Willing and able to stand, sit and use hands and fingers to handle or feel 67-100% of the time.
  • Willing and able to walk, talk and hear 67-100% of the time.
  • Willing and able to bend, squat and kneel 33-67% of the time.
  • Willing and able to taste or smell 0-33% of the time.
  • Willing and able to ascend and descend stairs 67-100% of the time.
  • Willing and able to lift and/or move up to 45 lbs. 67-100% of the time, 50 lbs. 33-67% of the time and 100 lbs. 0-33% of the time.
  • Willing and able to push/pull 300 lbs. 33-67% of the time.

  • Refrigeration certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled work in the operation, predictive and preventative maintenance, and repair of the facility’s real property, power industrial trucks, and plant facility systems.
  • Operate and maintain the ammonia refrigeration system.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical preventative and predictive maintenance as tasked.
  • Complete daily log sheets, communicate effectively, and be proactive in recognizing and reporting unsafe conditions and other mechanical concerns.
  • Be proactive in the daily plant operations to ensure maximum plant efficiencies and product quality and capacity.
  • Assist in maintaining a relevant and accurate mechanical inventory.
  • Support the company personnel and food safety programs, policies and procedures, and contract employee programs.
  • Follow all company personnel safety, food safety, attendance, GMP policies.
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks including lubrication power train & bearing maintenance, motor and gearbox replacement, fork truck & pallet jack maintenance.
  • Use measurement devices.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting, including troubleshooting electrical circuits.
  • Work overtime and weekends as needed.
