About The Position

Michelin is a world-leading manufacturer of life-changing composites and experiences, constantly innovating to produce high-quality tires and components for critical applications across various demanding fields such as mobility, construction, aeronautics, low-carbon energies, and healthcare. Michelin North America (Canada) Inc., which employs over 4000 people and operates three tire manufacturing facilities in Nova Scotia, is seeking an Industrial Progress Engineer. This role, based in the Annapolis Valley, will involve leading and developing the continuous improvement strategy, focusing on both efficiency and cost reduction projects, across areas ranging from specific work posts to corporate systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Process Engineering, or an equivalent technical diploma
  • experience in Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, PDCA, Bottleneck Management, Value Stream Mapping, etc), and SixSigma Certifications
  • exposure to digitalization and proficiency with tools such as Office BI Apps, OsiSoft PI, Raspberry Pi, etc
  • extensive experience with Microsoft Excel

Nice To Haves

  • experience in project team leadership
  • experience in Project Management
  • a PMP Certificate

Responsibilities

  • apply Industrial Engineering techniques and Lean concepts with the intent of improving process flows, reducing operational expenses, and improving productivity
  • analyze and challenge existing procedures in areas of responsibility throughout the facility, make recommendations, and work with operational teams to integrate solutions
  • provide guidance and support to operational management by identifying progress opportunities, supporting the Michelin Manufacturing Way, and helping to develop the site annual business plan and progress plan
  • develop, implement and improve manufacturing processes, tools, equipment and work activities, to meet and exceed the site's safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives
  • participate in facility personnel planning, productivity planning, machine capacity analysis, process efficiency analysis, project management, expansion needs analysis, material flow analysis, develop and maintain engineered time standards, value stream mapping, process flow and line balancing
