About The Position

The Industrial Production Planner develops and implements production and manufacturing schedules for industrial products to meet customer requirements and maintain appropriate inventory levels. The role works closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sales, manufacturing personnel, Purchasing, and supervisors. It supports a customer-focused division producing small quantities and lots of specialized products under demanding quality and traceability requirements. The position is based on-site in Hanover, Pennsylvania, and requires compliance with U.S. export control laws, including ITAR and EAR; access to controlled information is restricted to U.S. persons as defined by applicable law.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in a Supply Chain role, specifically in requirements or production planning or master scheduling.
• Strong skills using MS Office programs, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with computerized manufacturing planning systems such as MRP or ERP.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must be a U.S. person due to ITAR compliance.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical journals, financial reports, legal documents, and customer specifications.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Ability to effectively present information to plant and executive management.
• Ability to reduce cost through improved manufacturing processes.
• Ability to lead and train others, such as production operators.
• Ability to conduct time studies and manage time and multiple assignments.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

• C.P.I.M. or C.P.M. certificate.
• Industrial or manufacturing production planning experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with an ERP system; Business Central is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, operations, inspection, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Follow and support company safety, quality, and other company policies.
• Act on order-release actions and exception messages from the ERP system.
• Plan and manage production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and make effective use of productive capacity.
• Manage the ProdPlan worksheet for monthly production targets and individual item status.
• Coordinate production bottlenecks with area supervisors and other department planners.
• Analyze sales order releases in relation to capacity planning and material requirements.
• Manage inventory levels, schedules, and availability of selected manufactured or purchased items to meet production schedules.
• Complete shipping information and enter delivery dates during Sales Order (Contract) Reviews.
• Review and respond to termination or cancellation requests from Sales.
• Review work-in-process material sweeps from the production floor.
• Receive and review Sales Orders against current requirements and work in process.
• Release Manufacturing Orders for production materials and floor-stock items.
• Coordinate with manufacturing personnel, Purchasing, and supervisors on material status and production planning issues.
• Perform special projects as directed and other duties assigned by management.
