About The Position

PrecisionX Group seeks a hands-on Industrial/Process Engineer to develop, optimize, and sustain efficient manufacturing processes for precision metal stamping and related operations. This position will focus on improving safety, quality, productivity, equipment utilization, material flow, labor efficiency, and manufacturing costs. The Industrial/Process Engineer will work closely with Production, Quality, Tooling, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Management to identify operational challenges, implement process improvements, support new-product launches, and ensure that manufacturing processes consistently meet customer requirements. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to implement practical solutions on the manufacturing floor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or process improvement.
  • Experience developing and improving production processes, workflows, and plant layouts.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with time studies, capacity planning, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement.
  • Ability to analyze production data and establish performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with CAD, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, quality systems, or project management is preferred.
  • Experience in precision manufacturing or project management/CNC machining is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes for precision metal stamping, assembly, inspection, packaging, and secondary operations.
  • Establish process sequences, production routings, work-center requirements, standard cycle times, and labor requirements.
  • Develop and update process flow diagrams, work instructions, setup procedures, standard operating procedures, and visual manufacturing aids.
  • Evaluate process capability and recommend adjustments to equipment, tooling, materials, inspection methods, and operating parameters.
  • Ensure that manufacturing processes are repeatable, measurable, properly documented, and capable of meeting quality and delivery requirements.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators to track operational performance.
  • Compare actual production results against established standards and investigate significant variances.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Tooling, Quality, and Production to develop manufacturing plans for new parts.
  • Assist with equipment selection, tooling trials, sample production, process qualification, and production readiness.
  • Coordinate production trials and document results, lessons learned, open issues, and required corrective actions.
  • Ensure required process documentation, work instructions, inspection methods, and operator training are complete before production release.
  • Evaluate opportunities for automation, mistake-proofing, in-process monitoring, and improved material handling.
  • Diagnose complex tooling problems using part measurements, visual evidence, press observations, and tool inspections.
  • Determine whether defects result from tooling, material, equipment, setup, lubrication, feeding, or process conditions.
  • Investigate problems such as excessive burrs, slug pulling, punch breakage, uneven forming, galling, cracking, dimensional drift, and premature wear.
  • Use structured root-cause methods, including 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and failure analysis.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions that prevent recurring tool failures.
  • Work with Engineering and Quality to evaluate nonconforming parts and determine appropriate tooling corrections.
  • Document the problem, cause, repair, and verification results.
  • Communicate unresolved risks or concerns before tooling is returned to production.
