About The Position

Automatic Handling International, Inc. has supplied the global Fortune 500 consumer products manufacturing industry as a worldwide OEM of custom and patented handling and packaging systems since 1972. The Industrial Panel Builder builds and troubleshoots custom industrial control panels for automated packaging equipment used by Fortune 500 manufacturers. The work includes panel layout, wiring, testing, and commissioning complex control systems.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and diagrams.
• Basic knowledge of electricity and electrical circuits.
• Manual dexterity to work with wires, use hand tools, and handle small components.
• Ability to competently operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
• At least two years of experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire industrial control panels.
• Dimensionally lay out back panels and externally mounted devices.
• Operate computerized terminal, wire-labeling, and engraving equipment.
• Wire panel devices according to provided electrical schematics.
• Route and bundle wires and cables neatly and according to established electrical standards.
• Perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Power up panels (hot wiring).
• Debug I/O with live power.
