Summary/Objective The Painter is responsible for painting OGI units before and after work is complete to ensure is ready for shipment.

Requirements

  • 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Must be able to use conventional, airless spray guns, and sand blasting equipment.
  • Knowledge of various types of industrial paint.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
  • All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, sandblasting hood, paint masks, respirator and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility.
  • The employee in this position is regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
  • This position requires walking, the ability to reach, ascend/descend ladders, bend, kneel, and stoop.
  • The employee occasionally will lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years of similar experience of progressive responsibility in painting and/or coatings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Blasting steel parts prior to fabrication and after completion.
  • Ability to mix paint to manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Apply coatings through conventional, airless, and plural spray systems.
  • Operate various types of equipment such as blast pots and spray guns.
  • Cleans and prepares surface for painting, using air-powered sandblasting equipment.
  • Ability to use a mill gauge.
  • Disassembles paint and sandblasting equipment and cleans equipment, using solvent, wire brushes, and dry cloth.
  • Ensure required profile is met.
  • Understanding or reading of drawings and/or blueprints.
  • Stay on production schedule and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and crane.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
