About The Position

The Industrial Painter will be responsible for performing all surface preparation activities, including cleaning, sanding, grinding, and degreasing, to ensure optimal coating adhesion. This role involves applying masking materials to protect critical surfaces, fittings, and hardware according to engineering drawings or internal standards. The painter will also inspect surfaces prior to painting to verify readiness and correct deficiencies. Additionally, the role includes mixing two-part coatings accurately, loading and operating airless spray systems, and maintaining consistent coating thickness and appearance. The painter will conduct touch-ups and rework as needed, safely operate various paint equipment, and use man lifts or elevated work platforms when necessary. Cleaning and maintaining equipment is also a key responsibility. The role requires inspecting finished parts for defects, documenting work performed, and adhering to all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and OSHA, EPA, and company standards for hazardous materials.

Requirements

  • Perform all surface preparation activities including cleaning, sanding, grinding, and degreasing to ensure optimal coating adhesion.
  • Apply masking materials to protect critical surfaces, fittings, and hardware according to engineering drawings or internal standards.
  • Inspect surfaces prior to painting to verify readiness and correct deficiencies when necessary.
  • Mix two‑part coatings accurately following manufacturer specifications (ratios, pot life, temperature requirements, etc).
  • Load and operate airless spray systems to apply primer and finish coats.
  • Maintain consistent coating thickness, appearance, and coverage per internal quality expectations.
  • Conduct touch‑ups and rework when required.
  • Safely operate airless spray systems, pressure pots, and related paint equipment.
  • Use man lifts or elevated work platforms when required to access equipment surfaces safely.
  • Clean and maintain spray guns, hoses, pumps, and related tools to ensure reliable operation.
  • Inspect finished parts for defects such as runs, dry spray, fisheyes, or uneven coverage.
  • Document work performed, including paint batch data, mix ratios, and environmental conditions.
  • Follow established safety procedures including PPE requirements for respirators, protective clothing, and hearing protection.
  • Comply with OSHA, EPA, and company safety and environmental standards regarding flammable materials and hazardous waste handling.
