About The Position

The Industrial/Packaging Engineer is responsible for driving industrial engineering initiatives that improve material flow, labor efficiency, cost performance and on time delivery as well as designing and optimizing packaging solutions.

Requirements

  • Conduct time studies and establish standard work (rates) for all key operations
  • Maintain and continuously improve labor standards within Plex or internal systems
  • Compare quoted rates to actual and refine quote rate algorithms.
  • Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities to improve overall productivity
  • Work with suppliers and in house team to design packaging solutions for WIP and finished goods that protect product while minimizing cost, handling, and waste
  • Standardize container usage, dunnage, and pack quantities
  • Develop packaging cost tools for accuracy and consistency
  • Work with new product development on costing of packaging
  • Develop and manage packaging costing programs for new and existing products
  • Design and optimize workstation layouts for efficiency, flow, and operator effectiveness
  • Support line balancing and capacity alignment across processes
  • Assess jobs for ergonomic risk and implement improvements (lift assists, repositioning, work heights)
  • Support and promote a safe working environment.
  • Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain and Quality to support MOS continuous improvements
  • Interface with Project Engineering on new product launches for manufacturability and packaging
  • Support MOS continuous improvement initiatives aligned with KMC pillars
