The Industrial Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment used in manufacturing and production environments. This role ensures equipment reliability, reduces downtime, and supports safe, efficient plant operations. Millwright uses advanced mechanical skills, precision tools, and technical schematics to inspect, assemble, align, and optimize industrial systems. This role has been created to cover a current vacancy within the team.

Requirements

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Industrial Millwright Licensed Millwright (433A).
  • 5+ years’ experience working within an Industrial Millwright role, manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools and CMMS systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of basic electrical needs, welding and mechanical aspects of manufacturing machinery.
  • Continual improvement focused and ability to work independently on improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for conducting routine and preventative maintenance to minimize breakdowns and extend equipment performance and efficiency.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on all equipment, at both Albarrie facilities.
  • Dismantle machines, replace defective parts, clean and calibrate prior to reassembly and operational testing.
  • Operate machine tools such as grinders and welders to fabricate parts required during maintenance projects.
  • Respond to equipment failures and troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions, using diagnostic tools and identifying root causes.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, work orders, part usage, and equipment logs.
  • Update CMMS system with maintenance activities, findings and inventory requirements.
  • Participate in equipment upgrades and process improvement projects.
  • Support decommissions and recommissioning of existing of new machinery for production.
  • Source parts, drive and pick up as required.
  • Perform building maintenance tasks as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of machine shop and tools, to ensure an efficiently run department.
